MARGAUX GEX, originally from Switzerland, moved to Seattle in 2018 to attend Cornish College of the Arts, from which she graduated in 2021. Margaux is a freelance dancer, choreographer, and teacher. She has co-produced two evening length performances with Lael Battiste, was a company member with Malacarne from 2022-2024, and is currently working on a new piece for CO-’s second production in LA . Margaux recently moved to LA, in October 2024, where she presented her new piece “When I let you in” at the MATCH Residency showcase presented by Brockus Project Studio, in Utah at Movers + Makers hosted by Wasatch Contemporary Dance Company, and at the choreography open mic night for women’s national equality day hosted by Mashup Contemporary Dance Company. Margaux performed in September in “Dear Body Love Me” by Renee Donovan, and in October in Cho.co.LA choreographed by Rebecca Aguilar.

LAEL BATTISTE, originally from New Orleans, grew up in Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Cornish College of the Arts in December 2023 and recently moved to Los Angeles in fall 2024. Lael has co-produced, choreographed, and performed in two evening-length performances in 2023 and 2024, alongside Margaux Gex. Lael has worked with renowned choreographers such as Madison Hicks, Alicia Mullikin, Alfonso Cervera, and Hannah Victoria. Lael will be performing in Rebecca Aguilar’s work in ChoCoLA mid October and is working on a new piece for CO- with Margaux Gex!
