Nia-Amina Minor is a movement artist, choreographer, curator, and educator from Los Angeles. Her work centers the body and what it carries, blending movement with deep physical and historical research. She approaches her practice as an imaginative space grounded in rhythm where improvisation, Black vernacular movement, and choreography meet. Nia-Amina is co-founder of Black Collectivity, a collaborative project exploring memory through embodied responses. She has received regional and national commissions for her choreographic work and has a background as a performer, dramaturg, and arts writer. Nia-Amina has worked with artists and organizations such as dani tirrell, Keyes Wiley, Zoe Juniper, Will Rawls, No)one Art House, and Spectrum Dance Theater where she was a company member for 5 seasons. In 2021, she was featured in Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch,” and by 2025, she was recognized as Seattle Magazine's Most Influential People. Nia-Amina received her MFA from UC Irvine and a BA from Stanford University. She is currently a faculty member at Cornish College of the Arts.
